Vision

The opportunity

With the site’s proximity to the Fremantle town centre, the development is envisioned as a unique chance to produce a new standard of living and affordability with conditions that suit medium density residential housing. The proposal represents an exciting opportunity to create a strong benchmark for future developments in neighboring areas while respecting the current context.

Why are we here?

The project team are preparing a new Development Application following council and community feedback from an earlier submission. This allows the opportunity to “go back to the drawing board” and prepare a new design that responds to the needs and aspirations of the community.

Importantly, the recent acquisition of 30-32 Amherst Street creates a significantly larger site, with the additional land allowing the opportunity to re-design for greater residential diversity, with a mix of 1 & 2 bed apartments and 3 & 4 bedroom townhouses anticipated.

The proposed development

The proposal will renew the urban environment found within Stack and Amherst Street by providing high-quality residential development. It will promote a new public realm within the industrial sector of the area and cater for a growing demographic within Fremantle.

The built form will seek to adopt specific examples of good design and materiality to blend into its surroundings while renewing the streetscape through its contemporary aesthetic. The provision of a mix of one & two bedroom apartments and three and four bedroom townhouses will demonstrate a push to focus on quality yet affordable housing to develop the demographic within Fremantle.
