The Knutsford Street East precinct was born out of the opportunity created by the deletion of the Fremantle Eastern Bypass Reservation from the MRS. The uncertainty associated with the designation of a large swathe of land for a future high-speed highway resulted in years of neglect and lack of investment in the wider locality.

It is serendipitous that this long-term neglect stemming from a planned highway extension has created the opportunity for the redevelopment of a long-term inactive site.

The site, previously used for light industrial purposes was initially created through assembly of six (6) lots, with the recent addition of 30-32 Amherst Street adding a further two (2). The total site area is now 14,036 sqm and has created the scale required to achieve a quality outcome that delivers apartment and townhouse living in a landscaped setting.
